Remote Work & Culture

Instant Teams ranks #208 on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies

Did you know…over the last decade, the unemployment rate for military spouses has hovered well above 20%, which is more than five times the national average, according to the Department of Defense?

Instant Teams Founders, Liza Rodewald and Erica McMannes, were pioneers in remote work long before the pandemic normalized working from home, enabling military and veteran spouses to find meaningful work and job retention.

Did you know…female entrepreneurs typically secure only 2% of venture capital funding each year, according to Bloomberg?

Liza and Erica beat those odds and secured $13M in Series A venture capital funding in early 2022 and did so virtually

Did you know…65% of startups fail because of co-founder conflict?

In 2016, Liza and Erica started Instant Teams with a business model to create remote work for military and veteran spouses and other untapped talent communities.

Six years later, they are still going strong. In fact, Instant Teams was thrilled to make the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies, ranking  #208 overall, #13 for the HR Industry, and #9 for North Carolina.

“Making the Inc. 5000 list has been a goal of mine since becoming an entrepreneur. I am so proud of our company, the growth we have achieved together, and the economic impact we’ve generated for the military and veteran spouse community,” said Instant Teams Founder and CEO Liza Rodewald.

This list is a one-of-a-kind look at the most successful privately owned businesses. Previous honorees of the Inc. 5000 include Chobani, Jamba Juice, Meta, Microsoft, Pandora, Patagonia, and Under Armour.

“Success is measured in so many ways when you’re scaling fast, but knowing that our recognized growth has been consistently aligned to our mission and vision from day one, impacting unemployment rates and the financial stability of military families and untapped talent communities, is truly a monumental moment as a founder,” said Founder and Chief People & Community Officer Erica McMannes.

The companies on the 2022 Inc. 5000 list have not only been successful but have also demonstrated resilience amid supply chain woes, labor shortages, and the ongoing impact of Covid-19. Among the top 500, the average median three-year revenue growth rate soared to 2,144% – and Instant Teams grew 2,572%! Together, those companies created more than 68,394 jobs over the past three years.

Instant Teams is thrilled to recognize this accomplishment and could not have done it without the passion and support of our employees, customers, community, and partners.
