Military Spouses Can Grow Their Careers here…

You know the saying, “It takes a village”?

Well, the same is true when it comes to addressing the complex challenges the military community faces with employment, career transition, and workforce preparation.

And here at Instant Teams, we wouldn’t be able to continue propelling forward with our mission to change the way military spouses work without our trusted community partners—partners who have aligned visions and missions to help military spouses like you grow in your career.

So, let’s dive into what some of them have to offer you, shall we?

1. Blue Star Families

Blue Star Families is committed to strengthening military families by connecting them with their neighbors to create vibrant communities of mutual support. And as it relates to your career, the organization is working on a few points of entry for spouses to get back into the workforce. One of which is a connection to free IT/Tech training, which includes:

  • IT-Ready—Do you lack formal job experience in the tech field? Get trained on help desk and QA testing!
  • Grow with Google—Receive in-person and online applied digital skills training to prepare for and build a meaningful career.
  • WithYouWithMe—Get free training on Cybersecurity, Cloud, Data Science, Robotics Process Automation, and IT.

No, you don’t need to be a math whiz, know physics, or understand how to build a computer to be successful in the technology field. As BSF likes to say, if you can use your banking app and send an email, then you can be upskilled to work in tech!

Also worth calling attention? Spouseforce. Have you heard of it? It’s Blue Star Families’ career platform designed by military spouses, for military spouses. Create a profile today to be connected to resources, employment, and training!

2. Onward to Opportunity

Onward to Opportunity (O2O) is a free, comprehensive career skills program that combines industry-validated courses, strong partnerships, and comprehensive career coaching and employer relations services to match service members, members of the selected reserves, veterans, and military spouses with civilian job opportunities.

Not to mention, O2O partners with private sector companies committed to training and hiring military talent and their spouses earlier in the transition process. If you’re not located near one of its on-base installations, the organization also offers distance-learning opportunities through the online-only portion of the program.

Oh, and how could we forget that our very own People Operations Director, Anne, is a graduate of the program! Yes, that’s right. We not only value what IVMF is doing, but we’ve seen, first-hand, the impact its programs have on veterans and military spouses.

3. VIRTFORCE

VirtForce specializes in connecting America’s active duty military spouses to verified remote careers. They offer a members only job board that caters to the military community seeking to become part of the virtual workforce.

VirtForce believe military spouses are incredible remote team members and will connect you with positions that will help reduce unemployment amongst the military spouse community.
